County Eyes 10 Percent Pay Increase for Officials
County commissioners plan a 10 percent salary rise for 19 county and precinct officers. A public hearing is set for 9 p.m. Monday at Mikun Courthouse to review the proposal after a May 17 resolution. Dellie Ware Maedgen 75 of Troy died in a Temple hospital from injuries after a truck collision near Troy on FM 935. He was a lifelong Troy resident, farmer, and husband of Annie Crawford Maedgen. Survivors include his wife two daughters a sister a brother and five grandchildren. Funeral was Sunday at Hewett Funeral Home with Rev J W Gill and Rev Marshall Edwards officiating. Burial in Roberts Cemetery.

Funeral services for Roy Epperson 66 of Austin were held at Green Funeral Home Tuesday at 2 p m. The World War I veteran and Masonic Lodge member died unexpectedly at his Austin home Sunday night. He worked 25 years for the Texas Employment Commission and previously studied in Cameron. He is survived by his wife and two brothers J Epperson of Tyler and Bentley Epperson of Nederland.
