Last Tuesday at 8 pm Mayor Sam Hefley led a council meeting with roll call listing officials and aldermen. The council ordered street maintenance in front of Cameron Machine Shop on busy days and granted Griffith Bros a plumbing business permit. Night Watchman Will Cooke received a ten dollar raise.

Shakespeare Club Art Exhibit Arranged for February
The Shakespeare Club will hold an Elson Art exhibit likely February 22 or 23 in the club rooms once used by the Wylander club. Admission is ten cents with all proceeds to buy pictures for public school children and two prize pictures awarded to the room selling the most tickets.

Meeting of Cameron Fire Department Honors Donors and Upgrades
Cameron Fire Department held a regular session with near full attendance. Findings included thanks to H F Smith C N Green and Dr D Monroe for aid after Sundays fires and thanks to Rockdale Fire Department for assistance. Members were revised with some inactive members dropped and new ones added. The group praised the City Council for new firefighting equipment and ongoing department strengthening.
