Seaman apprentice James K. Warren, son of Mr and Mrs J H Warren of Milano Route 1, served aboard USS St Paul during the Striking Force training exercise Strikex with the First Fleet off Southern California on December 3. The exercise involved fourteen thousand personnel and thirty seven ships plus carrier and land based aircraft from local bases.

Leon Laffere dies at 35. services held in Rockdale
Leon Laffere, 35, a Sharp farmer and landowner, died. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. F. T. Sager officiating. Burial followed at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Survived by wife, daughter Janet, 7, son Larry, 4, his parents, and two brothers.

Health Unit Reports Streptococcal Cases This Week
