Red Cross Bloodmobile to Visit Cameron Friday
The Red Cross bloodmobile will stop at the First Presbyterian Church basement in Cameron to collect donations for the Central Texas Blood Center. About 20 volunteers will assist, led by Richard Moseley, with Dr Clifford Swift in charge of medical staff and Mrs F B Jackson coordinating canteen and clerical help. Donations run noon to 6 pm, and a pint can save a life.

Four Negroes Held As Shoplift Suspects
Four Black suspects were in the county jail at presstime on shoplifting charges after police nabbed them Tuesday in downtown Cameron. Milam 4H Poultry Team Wins National Contest in Chicago
Milam County 4H poultry judging team took first in market poultry judging at the National Invitational Poultry Judging Contest in Chicago. The group scored 3986 of 4500, finishing 17 percent behind the top team, with six divisions judged and sixteen states represented.

Milam County Christmas Parade Draws Thousands in Cameron
Thousands of Milam Countians filled Cameron downtown for an 82 unit Christmas parade led by Santa in 1957. About 3 000 to 4 000 watched as four floats won prizes totaling 80 dollars. Bands from Yee High and Thermas High joined patrols from sheriff city and state police on a 40 minute parade route ending at the courthouse square. Trades Day prizes were announced around the event with further awards planned for 3:30 p.m.

Water District to Vote on Bonds for San Gabriel Flood Plan
Voters in the San Gabriel Watershed District will decide January 14 if bonds totaling 140 900 will be issued to fund the watershed portion of a flood risk reduction project on the San Gabriel River and its tributaries. Wilson Recovering From Head Injury at Cameron Elevator
Bassel Wilson, owner of the Wilson Elevators in Cameron, is recovering in a local hospital from a head injury suffered Monday when a hammer fell from a newly installed grain bin at his EK First Street operation. He was rushed to Cameron hospital after the incident.
