The Cameron PTA opens a nine program year with a 7:30 p.m. lawn party at Yee High School tennis courts on Friday September 5. The event invites parents teachers and school board members and features VHS Band music.
Yee High School Maroon and Gray start the season against Rockdale with ten games planned. Coach Leo Jackson says the opener will indicate Yeomen’s prospects for nine conference games against Stephenville Killeen University High Waco and La Vega.
The Veterans Administration released discount ranges from 2 to 5 percent for GI home loans based on locality and down payment. Dr. George T. McMahan of the Waco VA Center said the discount is absorbed by builders, not charged to veterans, under the 1957 Housing Act. The agency also limits builder fees and requires certifications that charges do not exceed permitted discounts.
W. L. Ulich, former extension agricultural engineer, cautions that harvest time or rush period raises the risk of accidents with harvesting machines. He urges careful operation and safety practices to prevent injuries during peak harvest activity.
