Price of cotton still advancing in New York market
New York May 14 Developments last week favored cotton holders as buyers surged in textile markets and the farm bill moved toward statute. Prices rose to the highest since last August, closing about 1.25 a bale higher amid periodic dips. Strong forward demand, rising unit purchases, and heavy selling by southern hedgers supported gains while Liverpool bought heavily at times.

Autopsies Sought in Columbus Double Tragedy Case

Miss Gussie Wilson daughter of Mrs J A Wilson of this city and a Junction City teacher slipped on the cement flooring in a Warm Springs ladies dressing room Friday night and fractured her right arm near the wrist. She received medical attention at the Springs and returned home to Butler Tuesday to recuperate for several days.

Hon Thomas J Garrett age about seven died Tuesday morning at his home in Charing from prolonged illness. He was a farmer, church member, and husband of Georgia Woodall Garrett.
