Jesus Faces Jerusalem and the Cross to Save Mankind
The lesson places Jesus’ final journey to Jerusalem in spring AD 30 with the crucifixion looming weeks ahead. He foresees his suffering, rebukes political pride, and teaches sacrifice as the path to salvation, while the disciples follow and struggle to grasp Calvary’s meaning. James and John seek status in an earthly kingdom, but Jesus redefines greatness through sharing his baptism of suffering.
