The Town Growler and Its Folly
A sharp critique of local fault finders and town growlers who claim all wisdom in their circle. The piece likens them to geese and dogs, urging independence and action over clique domination, warning they thwart progress and bred indecision. It extols bold achievers who resist conformity and defend liberty of thought.

Several local families are noted visiting relatives and attending meetings and meals across the area.
Rat Snap product tale linked to river claim
A damaged clipping recounts Luke Reilly’s claim that a water rat died after nibbling RAT SNAP near his home. The anecdote, coupled with a three-size slogan and local drugstore names Butler Drug Co, Porter’s Drug Store, and Butler Ga, reads as a regional sales anecdote from a prior era.
