Campaign Judge McLaughlin seeks another term on Chattahoochee bench

Judge Frank McLaughlin formally announced his bid to succeed himself as superior court judge of the Chattahoochee judicial circuit which includes Chatta hoochee Harris Meriwether Muscogee Talbot and Taylor counties. He has served since 1924 and is noted for courtesy on the bench and his farm life in Talbot county where drought cut cotton this year.

Negro religious leader William D. Johnson dies at 65

Plains Georgia reports the death of William D. First Cotton Bloom Reported On Reynolds Farm

The Herald notes receipt yesterday of the season's first cotton bloom from Mance McCarty's farm near Reynolds. The crop is a joint effort by Hiram and Robert McCarty, sons of Mance, and the McCarty family are among the county's largest colored farmers.

Grading Start On Butler Reynolds Road Eight Miles

Grading of the eight mile Butler Reynolds road linked to State Highway 9 between Geneva and Roberta is underway. Two miles east of Butler courthouse rebuilt by county prisoners under state contract. six miles to be graded by John Mangham of Pelham at about 38 thousand six hundred thirty five dollars. Homer Comey Dies of Spinal Meningitis in Hazard Ky

News of the death of Homer Comey, a Taylor County native and mechanic in Hazard Kentucky, reached relatives Friday. He died after several days illness from spinal meningitis in Hazard. funeral and burial were held there. He was about 34, survived by his wife Gladys Mills Cotney, his parents Mr. and Mrs. A J Cotney, three sisters and two brothers.

Tuberculosis Clinic To Be Held At Butler July 3rd

The State Board of Health with local physicians will conduct a tuberculosis clinic in the Butler courthouse on July 3. Money Paid for October Pensions to 14 Widows and Veteran

Checks of 30 dollars each were mailed this week by Hon. L. T. Peed, ordinary, to thirteen widows and one Confederate veteran in Taylor. The total mailed amount is 420 dollars for October pensions.

Pupils of Mrs Belcher to Stage Dance Revue

Mrs Belcher's dance pupils present a revue titled Rhythm in a Day on the evening of June 24 at the Butler school auditorium. The show begins at 7 o'clock with admission at 10 and 20 cents.
