Rites Sunday for Judge Rainey at Dawson Home
Dawson Georgia June 20 plans were perfected for final rites for Judge Eugene Leigh Rainey 72 veteran Georgia editor and chairman of the Prison Commission. Services were held Sunday at the Methodist church in Dawson with an honorary Georgia Press Association escort. Survived by his widow a daughter a son and two grandchildren Rainey served 28 years on the Prison Commission and was a longtime Dawson News editor and public servant.

Taylor County Nominator Tickets Urged For Roosevelt Campaign
Georgia headquarters announced that counties should exceed their Roosevelt nominator ticket quotas to raise funds for the national election campaign. Taylor County is asked to raise 200 dollars by selling 200 nominator tickets at one dollar each, with proceeds sent to campaign headquarters and contributors' names given to President Roosevelt on June 27. Tickets grant entry to any Georgia rally on that date.

Lightning Destroys Taunton Barn and Stock
Lightning struck the barn of W. B. Taunton Thursday, destroying the structure and about 140 bushels of wheat, 250 bushels of corn, several tons of hay and feed. Family members on the porch watched the roof torn from one side as flames spread, mules saved but rest could not be removed.

Mrs B A Graham of 112 S Street S W Silvertown shot herself in bed Thursday morning about 7 o clock using a fire poker to press the trigger. Her husband was in the bathroom. The coroner jury ruled death by her own hands with no motive found. She worked at Martha Mills and was described as cheerful and free from mental or physical incapacity.

Funeral for Mrs C L Flowers at Bethel church
Mrs. C L Flowers of Ideal died at home after a brain hemorrhage and is aged 64. She married C L Flowers and leaves several children including Mrs F F Hardage and Mrs L C Blackmon. Funeral services were held at Bethel church and the interment was in Bethel cemetery.
