Body found of Columbus woman slain four years ago
Four years after a Columbus woman was killed officials announced the body of Mrs. Dave Walden 19 was found in the Okefenokee Swamp near Baker County Florida. Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director W C McLemore led a searching party that recovered the remains after earlier expeditions failed due to high water. The slayings are tied to an alleged Phenix City operation and a separate murder of Johnn F Stringfellow of Columbus. Sheriff E F Howell said Dave Walden of Houston and Johnny McVeigh of La Grange admitted the killing. Public notes indicate a wider search for a third victim as the case gains momentum.
