Jealous lover kills three in Atlanta home then dies
In a northeast Atlanta house Sunday night Alton Nix Treadway, 45, shot and killed John V. Booth 49 and Mrs. Ella Warren 39 and Tra D. Lane 49 of Chattanooga. A wounded Ann Padgett Cone is hospitalized. Treadway died 30 minutes after the gunfire. he had been dating Warren and had bought an engagement ring.

Robert Davant, youngest child of Judge J. E. Davant and Mrs. Laura Davant, died in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born in Butler, educated at the local high school, and later moved with his family to Corsicana, Texas. He was married to Fannie Lou and left a son and a daughter. S H Dykes 43 a prominent Americus attorney died instantly Tuesday in a car accident two miles from Leslie. He was president of the Americas Bar Association and a former Georgia Bar vice president. A Naval officer and World War II veteran, he was active in civic and religious affairs. Survived by wife Sara Moore Dykes a son a daughter and his parents.

Macon County Man Shot and Robbed by Woman in Night Spot
Americus Georgia February 19 a 46 year old man L L Hammack was shot in the abdomen by a 26 year old brunette he met in a night spot. She allegedly drove off in his nearly new car after taking his wallet and fifty dollars. Hammack was found by Deputy Fred Chappell a mile from the scene and hospitalized in Americus. The man identified the woman as Marie Sawyer of Chicago and described her as 5 feet 8 inches tall and 150 pounds.

Death of W. C. Bewley Georgia Peach Exchange Leader
Wm C Bewley president of the Georgia Fruit Exchange died at his Macon residence. Born in Anderson South Carolina he lived in Macon 28 years after moving from Atlanta. He led the old Georgia Peach Growers Exchange and from 1943 served as its manager until death. He belonged to First Presbyterian Church Elks Club and was an honorary Macon Rotary member.
