Alton Bean Banks, died after being struck by a car driven by Dr. Wilbur Eugene Neisler near the old state penitentiary site. Trooper Highsmith found the boy ran into the road after a bank jump. Neisler swerved to avoid him but could not. No charges were filed. Funeral held at Mansfield Baptist Church with burial at Tabernacle cemetery.

Head-on Crash Kills Two Near Warner Robins
Feb 16 near Warner Robins an automobile collision killed two men. J. R. Downs of Warner Robins and Jim Henry Sanders of Clinch were identified. A female passenger listed as Mrs. J. R. Downs was taken to a Macon hospital in fair condition. Two cars collided head on and the bodies required hours to be removed.
