Mrs. Eva Ruffin Carter Dies at Reynolds
Mrs. Eva Ruffin Carter, wife of Albert M. Carter, died Friday at her Reynolds home after long illness. Born October 6, 1882 in Reynolds, she was active in the Methodist Church and its Sunday School. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Reynolds Methodist Church with Rev. J. N. Shell and Rev. Park Smith officiating. Buried in Hillcrest Cemetery. Survived by husband, three daughters Helyn Carter Macon Wade Tepp Winston-Salem and Kuntz Orlando, two sons George and Albert Houston, one brother T. L. Ruffin Reynolds, three sisters J. M. Weaver Reynolds Ida Jakeill Atlanta Elba Lewis Decatur.

Sheriff Claude Williams said no action would be taken against Officer Henry Claxton after he shot and killed Dr. W. L. Boone the Baxley area. Boone was killed during a dispute over a car collision. Claxton was wounded and treated at Jesup hospital.
