Taylor County Polio Fund Drive Raises $100.23
Do E Benns Taylor County Chairman of the President's Birthday Celebration reported Friday that Taylor County donated 100.23 net to fight infantile paralysis. Most of the funds came from private citizens and a Dean Theatre picture. Butler and Reynolds schools helped sell buttons. Georgia statewide total reached 50000 with a further 10000 expected soon.

Luxury tax bill defeats in Georgia House on Tuesday
Atlanta Feb. 8 The Georgia House killed Governor Rivers luxury tax plan to raise 2.5 million in revenue. The 108 to 70 vote rejected all substitutes and approved a do not pass report. No reconsideration was sought as lawmakers adjourned after setting up a highway tax diversion bill for Wednesday.
