Poultry Car Sale Sets New County Record in 1980
More than five thousand pounds of poultry were sold at a cooperative sale in Bauer yesterday marking the first 1980 car. Bids from Hagie Poultry Co and Tennessee Egg & Poultry Co determined the distribution with hens and roosters dominating sales. Total receipts exceeded $1,219.00 as farmers supported the highest bidder, W. A. Lundy notes.

Two Columbus youths killed in car crash on bridge
Columbus Ga February 2 two youths Paul Leon Glisson 17 and Leonard C Green 18 of Beallwood were killed when the hired Ford roadster with rumble seat smashed on Standing Bay Creek concrete bridge ten miles north of Columbus. Earl Williams 20 driver survived. two others Miss Ira Ragsdale 18 and Claude Beach 21 injured. Williams held on double murder charge after admitting drinking. Speed estimated from 50 to over 55 mph. Authorities sworn warrants for murder.
