Remarkable Brazos County Pioneer Bettie Henry and Family
Bettie Henry and her husband Robert Henry emigrated from Ireland to South Carolina and Alabama before settling on the Little Brazos by the Rye patch near present day Joe Kopecky. In 1830s they endured river crossings with children, built a wagon train life, and survived Indian raids. Their daughter Bettie Jr became Mrs. Columbus Seale, linking two Brazos families to a storied plantation and a legacy of resilience.
