Cole Pleads Guilty and Receives Six Year Sentence
W H Cole former president and director of Bryan Building and Loan Association pleaded guilty to four counts of embezzlement and was sentenced to two years on each count. The judge ordered the sentences run two concurrent with the other two for a total of six years. Sheriff J H Reed escorted Cole to Huntsville to begin serving. Attorney Lamar Bethea represented Cole in a crowded district court.

Funeral Service Held on Sunday For Dr. Morgan
Funeral services for the late Dr. J. O. Morgan were held Sunday at 10 o clock from the Morgan home on the A and M College campus. Rev. Jesse Thomson led the rites with a male quartet singing Rock of Ages. The service honored a beloved A and M College of Texas faculty member and ended with prayers at Bryan city cemetery. Out of town attendees included Mr. and Mrs. Tom Ball Huntsville and others from Houston Dallas Fort Worth and Memphis.

Davis trial postponed to October 20
Wayne Davis, Brazos county dairyman, facing murder charges in the death of his son in law Willie Lovell, had his trial postponed to October 20 by Judge W. C. Davis. The delay rests on a motion claiming Roma Davis Lovell, widow of the victim, has a newborn and cannot appear. The postponement is the third in the case.

Two Men Jailed For Burglary of Rychliks Store
Charles Wilson and Otis DeHart were arrested Friday by Sheriff J H Reed Deputy C L Baker and Chief Tillis and jailed on burglary charges for robbing Frank Rychliks store at Edge Sunday night. About 240 dollars in cash and checks were taken. Wilson faces Brazos county liquor law indictments and Milam county burglary charges. DeHart, previously paroled, has a state prison past for highway robbery.
