A long list of visitors, residents returning home, and local notes fills Bryan today. People from Houston, San Antonio, Denison, Temple, and other towns mingle with A. and M. College staff, library staff, and area farmers amid family visits and business trips. Dr. I. O. Wilkerson recovers from injuries. funeral arrangements for Mrs. M. C. Steed are noted.
Houston County A and M Home residents lack dairy cows despite a barn and pasture. They invite parents or friends to lend one or two fresh cows, coordinating with county agent C. E. Bowles to arrange delivery. Natives include Robert Adair and others from Crockett Latexo Austonia Beloit Grapeland and Marlin English.
At a Taylor district board meeting Rev P C McGahey pastor of First Baptist Navasota was selected chairman of the Executive Board of the Fifteenth district Texas Baptists, an umbrella for nine associations. Other members include Rev J E Boulet Anderson Rev F Andrews Madisonville and Dr W H Andrew Bryan.

Dallas nine year old Miss Rena Mae Rotello daughter of Mr and Mrs Felix Rotello won the bathing beauty contest sponsored by the Ben Hur Life Association at Lake Cliff Park. The Dallas standout is a professional singer and dancer who debuted at three and has since appeared at top venues including Melody Tavern San Antonio 1932 Century of Progress Chicago 1938 and the Austin School in Dallas. She received a loving cup for the victory.
K Wolens department stores plan a new Bryan location in the renovated Bonneville building on Main Street next to J Gelber Son. The store will feature a modern front floors and fixtures with local workers hired for the Bryan staff and a focus on civic involvement in the town.
Ethelyn Raines twelve year old daughter of Mr and Mrs W C Raines of the Harvey community was knocked unconscious when the horse she rode tangled in wire and fell Thursday about 6 pm. She remained unconscious Friday morning and only intermittently conscious Friday afternoon. Her father was away and help delayed. She was taken to Wilkerson Memorial Clinic and X rays showed no bone breakage. She is reported to be recovering and doing as well as possible.
A Texas bill by Poage and Stone aims to create the Brazos River Conservation and Reclamation District to control the watershed. It would fund up to 40 50 million with tax remissions in ten counties and a federal loan grant, building 12 dams to store 3.5 million acre feet of water, irrigate 500 000 acres, and generate power while reducing floods and soil losses.
Rastee Sterling and Morell Jones, both residents of Brazos County, have been issued marriage licenses by County Clerk Clyde Goen. The notices indicate the couples are now legally authorized to wed in the county.
W W Griffin is confined to bed at his Beck street home after a fall Wednesday night. Attending physicians say injuries are not serious but he is temporarily lame.
