Feeder Loan Plan Of Credit Banks Funds Opposition

In San Angelo on November 21 a dispute over feeder lamb loans hovered as the bank faced resistance from livestock feeders. About 760 applications were filed with under 106 for feeder loans, and roughly $500,000 of loans had been advanced while nearly $1,000,000 in loans had final approval. A second protest from the Sheep and Goat Raisers Association prompted a more liberal approach to split loans. Jesse H. Jones in Washington advised review for special cases where loans to the Regional Credit Corporation are well secured and borrowers not overextended. A split loan allows loans on all livestock classes and may require mortgage coverage only on the lent funds. More than three-fifths of loans were affected under prior rules.
