A conspiracy to kill and collect 5000 insurance led to a man and woman jailed on murder charges. D. W. Tax Assessment Lower in Brazos as Rate Falls

Funeral Service Held Saturday For Tabor Woman
Mae McCallum 86 died Friday at her family farm home in Tabor after years of illness. Funeral services were held at Alexander Methodist church with Rev. L C Lilly. interment in Alexander cemetery. Born in Scotland she came to the U S in 1866 and lived in Brazos county over 66 years. Survived by three sons J H McCallum Tabor T J McCallum Tabor and A J McCallum Austin and two daughters Mrs N H McWhorter and Mrs M E Thompson both of Tabor.

New Hiway South Now Being Used in Grimes County
Grading and bridge work on highway No 6 from Bryan to the Navasota river bridge at the Grimes county line is complete. The road is in good condition and many motorists are using it during dry weather to view the new route. Four miles opposite the A and M college, planned as an experimental road, are being graded and nearly finished. Culverts and small bridges were completed months earlier to fit the grading.

Funeral Held For Little Crenshaw Bay Child
The nine month old Mark Crenshaw died at 4 30 am at the family home on the Kurten highway three miles north of Bryan after a three week illness. Rev. R L Jackson of A and M college conducted the burial at Steep Hollow cemetery. Survived by parents Pete and Mrs Crenshaw and four siblings Virginia Ruth Adell Ernest and W T Crenshaw Jr all of whom are small children.

Bryan Resident Mourns Death of F M Black Leader in Education
Dr. John W. Black and family returned from Houston after the death of F. M. Black a longtime Houston educator and junior high school pioneer.
