Missionary Society Circles Hold Meetings at Church

The Woman's Missionary Society of the Methodist church held circle meetings with five groups including College women. Reports from Circles 1 2 3 and 5 detail Bible study sessions led by various hosts and lists of attendees with visitors from College.

Christian Church Announces Revival Evangelist in Bryan

The First Christian church reported 77 in Sunday attendance and 2.99 dollars in weekly offerings for Sunday school with strong church services. A Junior Christian Endeavor Society was formed, meeting Sundays at 3 30 at the church. Evangelist G B Kellems of Eugene Oregon was secured to hold revival services beginning Sunday April as part of the church board efforts.

Death of Mrs Holton Reported at Austin

Mrs G N Holton wife of the state treasurer died at home in Austin early today. Flags at the capitol and governor's mansion were lowered to half mast and the state department was closed.

Major Ashburn Appeals Brazos County Red Cross Roll Call

Major Ashburn urges Brazos County to join the Fifth Annual Red Cross Roll Call between Armistice Day and Thanksgiving Day. He emphasizes 100 percent local participation to expand services, including a full-time public health nurse, increased Home Service, flood-relief aid, and countywide health work for children. Enlist at the Bryan Red Cross office starting Monday November 14. Ike Ashburn, Chairman. Red Cross chairmen meet in Bryan Tuesday at 2 pm.

Two Rivers Oil Company Drilling At Wixon

Dr J N Goodwin reports that the Two Rivers Oil Company has restarted sinking the Wixon Lake well in Brazos County after taking over the site at about 1800 feet. The firm has raised about 5000 to continue and will seek an additional 5000 through stock sales to push the venture to a successful completion amid regional oil-field activity in Brazos Robertson and Grimes counties.

Willis Joins Texas Methodist Annual Conference

Rev H C Willis of the First Methodist Church preached his last sermon for the year and thanked the board of stewards for balanced church accounts. He heads to Beaumont for the Texas annual conference, leaving Bryan Tuesday, with hopes of a return to serve another year.

Free Baptist CG Elets Conduct Notable Meeting

The Free Baptist Christian Endeavor Society held a strong meeting led by Miss Ona Buchanan with a good turnout and evident evangelism. Committees formed to boost Sunday school interest, a best-record class earns a Saturday night treat, and a missionary play by the Central Texas association was well received at Kurten. Next Sunday at 6 45 p m a Thanksgiving service led by Miss Lillie Dowling will feature a playette Thanksgiving Mary.

Week of Prayer Observed by Women in Methodist Church

Women of the Methodist church observed a Week of Prayer with services Monday to Wednesday afternoon. The pastor Rev H C Willis led offerings totaling over 50 dollars for missions, supporting the Holding Institute at Laredo and the Lambuth Memorial school in Japan.

Epworth League entertains at church gathering

The Epworth League held an 80 day meeting at the Methodist church on Friday evening at 7 50. A large number attended and enjoyed games and delightful refreshments including sandwiches, homemade candy and punch. Chaperons were Mesdames J B Priddy E W Crenshaw H N Cochran and Oak McKenzie.

Auto crash leaves Rufus Bunting seriously hurt

Rufus Bunting son of Mr and Mrs F A Bunting was struck by a car while returning from his Eagle paper route at College and 28th streets. He sustained fractures to the right thigh and pelvis and serious hip injuries with fears of permanent crippledness. His father travels to Dallas to seek bone specialist aid as friends wish for his recovery.
