Council hears objections to street paving plan

Roanoke Crew Still Missing After Ship Sinking
Forty one crew members from the steam ship Roanoke are unaccounted for after the vessel capsized and sank about 100 miles south of San Francisco during a gale. The steamer Lansing searches for four lifeboats that sheltered the crew. the Roanoke carried no passengers.
