Tabor Plans Picnic to Aid Lighting Plant Debt

Baylor President Praises McAdams City Management Course

Robson found guilty in Mollie Dudley slaying case

Bob Robinson, 22, of Houston, convicted of manslaughter in the Mollie Dudley death near Kountze. Jury imposes a five year suspended sentence after ruling the defendant responsible for the Houston woman's killing from a year earlier.

Junior Reading Club Formed by Seven Girls

Bryan forms the Junior Reading Club with seven girls aiming to read the best books during vacation. Twelve Year Old Girl Killed at Orphans' Home

Christine English twelve year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Edgar English was instantly killed at the state orphans home in Corsicana this afternoon. She became entangled in laundry machinery while playing around the wringer. The gardener at the home was her father. The body was badly mangled.

Defendant in Bullock murder case pleads insanity

Marlin July 16. Testimony to support an insanity plea was introduced by the defense in the trial of Commodore Bullock accused of murdering Sheriff Morehead of Brazos county near Bryan. Court records show prior mental unsoundness in 1920 and 1922, with witnesses aimed at highlighting Bullock's daily behavior. Jury selection from the special venue was completed after the court overruled a defense continuance motion.

Four Men Return From 1600 Mile Rio Grande Trip

Willie Sebesta Pete Vitopil Jack Koneeny and Joe Kopecky arrived in Bryan Tuesday at 5 p m after a 1600 mile auto trip to the Rio Grande country. They left Bryan July 6 in a light six Studebaker with camping gear and traveled via San Antonio to Laredo then down the Valley to Mission and Brownsville. They fished at various spots and experienced no car trouble.

Jim E Rhodes Dies at Austin After Ill Health

Jim E Rhodes aged 38 or 39 died in Austin on Wednesday afternoon after a two year fight with tuberculosis. Born in Iola he lived many years in Bryan and was a partner in Bryan Battery Station. He is survived by his mother Mrs Sam E Rhodes of Iola and sister Mrs Dodd Mize of Iola. funeral held at Iola with interment in the family lot.
