The program spans Old Settlers Parent-Teachers Shriners and Agricultural days with Shrine Band music from Austin Round Rock Taylor Georgetown and nearby towns.
Brazos County Singing Convention tabernacle committee met on Saturday July 5 and decided not to have one community bid against another. The group will seek a central site raise funds and build to avoid rivalry. Members include I M Cook chair Harvey E A Peters P L Barron Jim Lloyd T A Hensarling Jr Geo Jones Relance Tal Tobas John Whitten Will Henry Edge Jim Cloud and J E Hensarling Bryan.
Attorney James Skyfield died at 2 30 this morning at the home of Mrs. W T Crenshaw in Bryan aged 71 years 11 months and 3 days He is survived by his wife formerly Miss Helen Rigby of Bryan The Skyfields moved from Houston three months ago Funeral services are set for 7 30 tonight at McCulloch Gordon chapel with Rev S Moylan Bird Burial will be in Richmond Virginia shipped by the H T C accompanied by his wife and Mr and Mrs Wm Rigby Born in Berkshire England He came to the United States many years ago
At 4 am Mrs Frances Reed and Mr H H Prager wed at the Methodist parsonage with Rev H C Willis officiating. Six Klan members in regalia attended, reciting The All Seeing Eye Is Upon You. The couple plans a bridal trip to South Texas and will reside in Bryan.

On Wednesday July 16 the Smetana School house grounds host an annual picnic and barbecue to aid the school. Chas Merka and Principal D L Turner organize with a speaker from A and M College in the morning and political candidates speaking for a few minutes. Barbecue plates cost 50 cents at noon, ice cream and drinks sold on site, and a big dance will close the day at Kosarek brothers hall.
Miss Lilla Graham Bryan writes about her stay at Camp Kiva near Medina Lake on the San Antonio road. About twenty five girls are under military rule with director Miss Eunice Aden of the State University and counsellors. Daily work and play are scheduled, reflecting systematic living aimed at health and happiness.

At 6 a m Sunday three cars ready for a long trip will depart Bryan for Rio Grande Valley Brownsville the ultimate destination.
