Funeral Service Held Thursday For Harvey Man
Tom J. Ross aged 53 died at his Harvey community home in Brazos county after a three year illness. The funeral was held at Old Bethel church with Rev E E Carrington of Bryan officiating, interment in Old Bethel cemetery. Survived by widow three sons T J Ross Giles Ross Roy Ross and daughters Vida Onie Ina Ross all at home. McCulloch Dansby of Bryan directed arrangements.

Plantersville grew from 1853 when Judge Henry Griggs Colonel Isaac Baker and Dr. Mitchell donated 10 acres each for town sites on land grants. The new town split for church, school, and building lots, named Plantersville to honor local farming. Early education began with Prof. J. K. Markey, with separate boys and girls schools and later a 1912 brick high school.
