Five students from Massey's Business College in Houston earn honor roll status for the class of 39. Two Brazos county graduates from Tabor high school, Adolph Conrad and Miss Dell Fuller, led with strong averages and multiple activities. Miss Fuller, 94.4 average, was graduation class honor pupil. Adolph Conrad, 87, active in athletics and plays, works for Kuhn Paint Co in Houston. Both Kemper community ties and Tabor rural high school heritage highlighted.
Mrs Grant McDonald of the Kings Highway Club and Mrs Herbert Smith of the Tabor Club win scholarships to the Farmers Short Course at A and M College. McDonald also wins county prize in the Improved Kitchen Contest. Smith tops spring vegetable showings among local clubs with high quality produce.
The Steep Hollow community center auditorium hosted the home talent play An Home Came Ted at 8:30 last night. The well attended event featured proceeds around 82.80 with 23.75 from a cake auction by Mrs. Robert Jones, funding lighting for the Delco plant serving the school and churches. Local Bryan guests included Abbie Sevier Ella Bandelin Una Edge and many others from Harvey and Reliance communities.
Mr and Mrs W F Gibbs return to Bryan from New Orleans where Mrs Gibbs sought special treatment. After three operations on her head she is much improved but still very weak and rests quietly at her College Avenue home. Friends are glad of her return and improved condition.

Houston July 6 Between 40 and 50 boys and girls will travel to a short course in Texas for the Boys and Girls Agricultural and Home Demonstration Clubs. The group will come from counties served by Missouri Pacific in the region.
Rev W H Matthews, College Station Y M C A secretary, arrived home from a 10 day Kerrville sojourn. He led singing at a Presbyterian young people synodical conference and spoke at a Bible hour. He recounted climate agriculture feats, a blue swimming hole, and a bass jumping over a radiator.

Lightning hit the rear servant's quarters of Major E. H. Bertram’s home on the A and M College campus at 1 35 pm Monday. The fire was extinguished by rain before the college fire department arrived, causing negligible damage.
W. R. Goen, longtime resident, is in a Houston hospital after a stroke amid existing health problems. Clyde Goen and his sister Isley left by car to stay with him as they await any change in his condition and friends hope for recovery.
