Attack on Merle Gandy Near Wellborn Shocks District

Allen Academy Beats San Marcos 20 to 0 For Conference Title

The Allen Academy football team defeated San Marcos Baptist Academy 20 to 0 on the Baptists' field to claim the Texas Academy Football Conference title for the third straight year. Burgess and A. Allen scored on long end runs, with strong line play by Seay Nami and Meiers. San Marcos' Ramsey and Albright stood out on defense. Allen was penalized 275 yards for holding.

Ruins At Old Baylor College Seen By Fountain Couple

Dr. and Mrs. W. C. Fountain visited Old Independence in Washington county to view the Baylor College ruins. They recalled the 1845 charter for Baylor University and the 1885 consolidation with Waco University, noting the site as the cradle of Baptist education in Texas.

Dr L O Wilkerson and wife and infant daughter returned from four years as medical missionaries in China.
