Brazos County club leaders plan pantry drives and 1940s farm talks

Adele Charik of Kime's Highway Girls Home Demonstration club plans to organize and document her pantry work before returning to school. Mrs Close Prada will aid Adele in pantry organization while a wider rural program highlights the Live-At-Home plan from Texas A and M College, promoting fall grain for livestock and soil conservation.

Community club event and local visits noted in May

Busy cotton picking dominates the scene as all bolls open at once. The community club met Friday with entertainment by Red Head and a costly admission for charity. Many local residents and visitors from Bryan, Normangee, and Rock Prairie stop by homes and churches.

Prospect Revival Services Extended for Another Week

Revival services in Prospect by Bryan preachers Rev. Henry Godwin and Rev. Bennie Griffin will run an additional week after two weeks of meetings. The revival was set to close Sunday with two services and noon dinner, but extension was announced Sunday morning.

Church revival continues with nine additions and upcoming party

Preachers and R. J. Halbrooks who have led the revival music were asked by the congregation to carry on with services next week and they agreed. Nine church additions have been made since the revival began. The church will also host a party Friday night.

Monthly Meeting of C-B Workers Bedias Tuesday

The Creath-Brazos Baptist Workers' Conference holds its September monthly meeting next Tuesday at Bedias Baptist Church. Officers include Rev. Thos A Gray moderator and Rev. R L Brown vice moderator. Programs begin at 10 with praise led by H P Black and devotional by R D Washington. Baylor College president R Yt Mirdy Belton will speak on the campaign. Dr. William H. Sewage Disposal Plant Nearing Completion on South College Ave

The Imhoff tank walls and troughs in the new sewer system are finished and the tank should be completed by the end of the coming week. City Manager R G Williams said the plant could be ready to hook up by September 10 if current progress continues.
