Round Up Showcases Sonora Texas Experiment Station

The Sonora Station hosted its seventh Ranchman’s Round-Up with A&M President Dr. T. C. Walton and director A. B. Conner in the spotlight. Scientists Dr. I. B. Boughton, W. L. Cory, and W. H. Cameron outlined vaccine development, range plants, and prickly pear control. Attendees heard from veterinarians Dr. Schmidt and others, with industry leaders like Frank Holland and Dolph Brisco praising future cattle and wool industries.

Week of Services To Open Richards Methodist Church

Richards Grimes county opens a new Methodist church with a week of services led by Rev Z Walter Moore. Visiting pastors fill each service with Moore delivering the Sunday morning sermon. The building includes an auditorium seven classrooms a pastor's study and a ladies parlor.

RFC FORCE CUTS WOOD FOR CITY FUEL SUPPLY

A crew of about 10 men funded by RFC is cutting fire wood on land east of Bryan along highway 21. The wood will be seasoned and stored to supply fuel to needy residents next fall and winter.

Bryan Eagle blue eagle edition to boost local recovery

Intensive work began Monday on the Blue Eagle Edition of the Bryan Daily Eagle. The project aims to unite buyers and sellers, feature a history of Bryan businesses, and distribute copies to every home to promote national industrial recovery. W M Taylor will assist the compiling staff.

Marriage license boom expected after September first

Leafworm Moths Hit Local Fields In Large Numbers

Dr. F L Thomas reports cotton leafworm moths in large numbers across local cotton fields with expected rapid injury. Weevil infestations range 20 to 70 percent in Brazos and Burleson counties as weather favors population growth. No reports of cotton flea hopper or bollworm damage in the south central area yet, though nuisances from both insects are noted in McLennan county.
