Nunzio Tritico aged 64 died Thursday at home near Bryan after a weeklong illness. Funeral today at St Anthony's Bryan with Rev Basil Bravi. interment in Bryan Catholic Cemetery Italian section. Survivors include widow five sons and four daughters. He had lived in Brazos County 27 years.

Farm Bureau Meeting Saturday in Bryan to Hear Cotton Issues
The County Farm Bureau Board will convene Saturday afternoon in the District Court Room of the County courthouse in Bryan from 2:00 to 4:30 to hear members who do not expect to deliver cotton to the Texas Farm Bureau Cotton Association this year. President J L Stasny calls the meeting to hear explanations and ease organizational concern. all board members are urged to attend.

Mammoth Stalk Cotton Brought To Eagle Office
A large 46 inch stalk of cotton with 55 polls and 55 squares was left at the Eagle office. Grown 15 miles east of Bryan in the Navoso t Bottom on the C A Lewis Place, it withstood less than an inch of rainfall after planting on April 24. The note suggests May Basket style harvests could bring prosperity to Brazos County.

McCoy Harvests Second Bale of Cotton in Bryan
L. McCoy brought his second bale of cotton to the Bryan market grown on waste land within Bryan city limits. The first bale weighed 548 pounds at 25 cents per pound. The second bale weighed 677 pounds but was not sold as the price did not meet 25 cents. Last year he received permission to plant vacant land in cotton and repeated this year, though drought reduced the crop and he made no prediction on total bales.

Bryan Folks Enjoy Dam Outing With Fishing Picnic
A Bryan group led by Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Covey plus several families visited Government Dam yesterday for a fish and picnic supper. They left Bryan in autos about 5 PM and by 6 30 PM were fishing from the dam piers. The catch remains unknown but many tales of large fish circulated as the moon lit the water and supper of fried chicken was shared on the rocks. They returned to Bryan early this morning happy with a pleasant outing.

Cotton futures closed up 15 to 20 points as market steadies. Local spot prices for new receipts are quoted around 28 to 24 cents.
Felker Starts Irrigation Plant on Brazos River Farm
At 11 o clock today Felker began pumping water from a six inch well on his farm 22 miles from Bryan into a field of young watermelons. The plant uses a Fordson tractor and double suction centrifugal pump built by Chambers Wilson Motor Co under W W Chambers, costing about 1000 dollars.

Sheriff reports Joe Carey a 21 or 22 year old Black farm laborer shot in the back by a Bohemian farmer with a 32 caliber pistol after being told to leave the house of Charles Brunner where he had talked to Brunner’s daughters. The ball lodged in his body and the shooter was arrested. The incident occurred around 8 or 9 this morning two miles south of College.
