The Pessimism to Optimism Operation
In Millican the writer recalls a humorous tale where Mr Pessimism undergoes a comic operation at the County Agent’s office. The procedure swaps a large heart for stone and a spine for a back bone, turning him into Mr Optimism. The piece extols cheerful outlooks and praises the optimism of club boys and girls who filled in.
