Revival Ends At First Methodist Church
The three week revival at the First Methodist Church closed Sunday night under pastor Dr H H McCain. A total of 25 additions and renewed interest among existing members were noted. Evangelist C M Dunaway of Decatur GA and Prof Hamp Sewell of Atlanta GA led the meetings before their departure to Beaumont to begin new services tomorrow.

The Brazos County Federation of Church Societies held a rainy day session at Carnegie Library on Monday. Mrs J L Brock was elected president with Mrs J Webb Howell as vice president and Mrs M Francis as secretary treasurer. Two auxiliaries joined and a luncheon for the Texas Methodist Conference was approved for April at the First Presbyterian Church. The next meeting is the fifth Monday in May with the Free Baptist Auxiliary as hostess.

Fire Alarm Responds To House Fire On Candy Hill
A fire alarm at 11 o clock summoned a chemical truck to a negro shanty on Candy Hill where the roof burned. Firefighters saved part of the house and adjacent property with chemicals and a bucket brigade. The department reported 100 percent attendance. Mrs Burnette and her baby left for Troup Texas with Boots Dodson, W S Burnette headed for Palestine, E P Burnett and wife for Beaumont, with Mrs H E Quinn of Houston accompanying them. Parition of Bryan parishioners of St Anthony's Italian Catholic church traveled to Hearne on Monday to welcome Rev Father Basil Bravi back after a six month Italy visit. He returns to no church home as the local building burned recently with contents. A banquet followed at his home after the return trip lasting over two and a half hours.
