Bank Robbery At Citizens Savings Netted 2300
Two masked men held up the Citizens Savings Bank before noon on Tuesday. They struck the president and cashier with a blackjack, forced staff to gather money and bonds, and locked patrons in the vault before fleeing. A black 1935 Chevrolet was reported as the getaway car, with police and highway patrol chasing leads across Linn and Sullivan counties.

The Christian Church suffered significant damage from a fire Sunday afternoon. It started in the basement likely from a spark igniting kindling. Fire engines soon contained the blaze before the Purdin truck arrived as wind and smoke threatened greater damage.

Home Workers Club Resumes Activities With All Day Meeting
