James Brassfield lifetime Sullivan County resident and Civil War veteran died at his home northwest of Browning on October 29 at 3 50 pm. Born September 25 1844 near Lindley he enlisted in Co E 44th Missouri Infantry. Survived by three sons one daughter eleven grandchildren seven great grandchildren and a brother with funeral at his parents home and burial in Linneus cemetery beside his wife.

The Willing Workers Club held a Halloween masquerade at Mr. and Mrs. Ann Brinkley’s home with families.
