Seed corn from Nebraska proves disappointing to farmer Mr Rader
Mr C L Rader of Taylor Township reported to the county agent that seed corn grown in Nebraska yielded many barren stalks and poorly developed ears compared with locally grown seed. Similar results were echoed by Missouri farmers and Missouri Experiment Station tests. With seed corn scarce and high priced this spring, farmers face temptation to buy market corn. moving seed corn long distances reduces adaptation and may be false economy.
