Browning High School Tops Linn County Contest
Browning High School won the 1937 Linn County contests held Friday night at Brookfield High School. Measured by a four rating scale, Browning placed in top positions across humor, serious readings and one act plays, with final standings showing Browning first with 11 points and Meadville second with 10. The event featured readings by Miss Josephine Devore and Miss Lola Rae Bartow, and the play The Patchwork Quilt performed by a group including Margaret Bagley Imogene Hanman Wilma Deskins Hazel Maggart Mary Smith Donald Warren Gale Gooch.
