Selective Service Urges Compliance With New Family Status Rules

Colonel Claude C. Earp, State Director, emphasized that the Selective Training and Service Act aims to supply manpower for the armed forces and essential war production. The amendment allows local boards to consider dependents and wartime work, with precedence to those with bona fide family ties established before December 8, 1941, while meeting July and August induction needs. Local boards will induct married registrants with dependents to fill July and August calls, prioritizing those previously classified as available for military service.
