Green Thumb and STEP cited in Texas seniors employment day

Governor Mark White proclaimed June 1 Texas Farmers Union Green Thumb Senior Texans Employment Program Day citing long running programs that place workers 55 and older in rural centers, schools, libraries and towns. The effort involves TFU Green Thumb and STEP with 1 059 Green Thumb Texas enrollees and 930 STEP workers nationwide? in 108 Texas counties 7 local workers celebrated with Governor White and TFU president Mike Moeller noting community benefits and cost savings to taxpayers.

Canner Clinic at Coleman Park in Brownfield Saturday

A Canner Clinic set for Saturday June 25 from 9 30 a m to 4 30 p m in the Amphitheater Meeting Room at Coleman Park Brownfield. Testing costs 350 per canner with about 15 minutes per gauge check conducted by Mr and Mrs Jack Harper of Lubbock sponsored by the Family Living Committee and Texas Agricultural Extension Service. Educational programs by the Agricultural Extension Service serve people of all ages regardless of socio economic levels race color sex religion or national origin.
