Cotton county yields and harvests for 1982 figures
Terry County ranked third among 25 counties with 129,500 bales on 290,600 acres planted and 235,800 harvested. Yield 264 pounds per acre. Of 3,685,700 planted in the region, 2,380,900 were harvested, leaving 1,304,800 acres unharvested, about 35 percent. Other counties listed include Gaines, Dawson, Hockley, Lynn, Yoakum, and Lubbock with varying bales, planted acres, harvested acres, and yields.

District Court Sentences Three During Week
Three cases disposed in 121st District Court before Judge Ray Anderson. Ramiro Bazan Jr received three years in the Texas Department of Corrections on probation revocation. Charles Ray Gibson pleaded guilty to criminal mischief with a 10 year probated sentence and fines totaling 97.50 court costs 2000 attorney fee and 15 monthly probation. Christopher Mack pleaded guilty to theft of personal property 200 to 10 000 and received a three year probated sentence with 561.19 restitution 97.50 costs 200 attorney fees and 15 monthly probation.

Terry ACS Golf Tournament Raises Funds for Cancer Research
The Terry County Chapter of the American Cancer Society sponsored a golf tournament last weekend at Brownfield Country Club raising almost $1,700 for cancer research. Lynn Thames chaired the event with support from Amoco Production Co. Brownfield State Bank Brownfield Savings & Loan Assoc. First National Bank and the Brownfield News. Local home demonstration clubs prepared and sold sandwiches at the event.
