The Brownfield Police Department answered 3 031 calls in June. Chief Bill Avera presented a city council briefing noting 22 theft and 21 assault reports, two motor vehicle thefts and one burglary. About 14 781 in property was stolen with 7 144 recovered. 68 arrests and 129 citations issued during the month along with 22 accidents causing three injuries and 12 070 in vehicle damage.
