Crops Need Heat Says County Agent
County Agent Steven Bradshaw says Terry County crops need sun and sustained warmth to finish the season strong. He notes heat units are back to normal after wet spells, with September critical for crop outcomes. Weevils, flea hoppers, and lygus bugs persist, but many producers expect a decent year if dry periods continue. Ballots on the boll weevil eradication program in the Southern High Plains are due by August 1.
