Officers of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church and parish societies met in Parish Hall on Congregational Street to set dates for a six week series of Sunday socials starting in November. Mrs James J Velleca presided with James Salzano Rosalie DeRiso and Ralph Simonell also on the arrangements committee. A follow up meeting is set for Monday at 7 30 pm in the same hall.
Richard Holmes 14 of South Warren saved Mrs. S Colitz of Providence and Mrs. J M Munro of New Jersey during the Sept 2 1938 Warren River hurricane. He swam to a raft urged them to hold, fetched help, and later chose a watch inscribed for bravery. His father A Joseph Holmes is a plant engineer at U S Rubber Bristol factory.
Brazol Aerie Fraternal Order of Eagles named a social committee at a special meeting in Eagles Hall to plan year activities. Manuel Philips heads the group with John Lima Alfred Asciolla Manuel Sylvia Peter Moren Jr Domenick De Martino Ambal Estrella and Joseph F Pan as members. Pasquale Malsana named team captains for a membership campaign. Initiation of new members will begin monthly.
