Bristol Girl Scouts met at the Scout House on Tuesday. Hope Rex Nancy Heibborn and Jean Harlow wore old fashioned costumes. Plans were laid for a Halloween party at a future date. Miss Viola Leclerc gave health instructions.

Colt Students Elect Officers

Principal Edward J. Fitzgerald announced Colt Memorial High School elected William A. Bottomley Jr and Frank Catallano as presidents of the junior and senior efffisses. Other officers named include Andrew Del Toro Marty Aiello Nicholas Mancieri Attilio Topazio Mariano Buculo and Edward Russo with executive boards to be chosen next week.

Hurricane damages disrupt Guiteras school session plan

After the September hurricane, Guiteras Memorial and other schools lost five days. Elmer S. Mapes reports flood damage at Guiteras, including a four foot water line on the field and bent backstop, damaged boiler and vacuum pump. Heat and power outages delayed classes until October 5.

Auto Crash Strikes Cement Wall Near St Marys Church

Two men were injured when their car crashed into a cement wall in front of St Marys Church on Wood Street. Driver Vincent I McMahon suffered facial injuries and a chin wound with six stitches. partner Chhigh? treated for hip and head injuries. A lawyer passenger was ordered to appear in Fifth District Court next Monday on a motor vehicle violation charge. Police say the car mounted the sidewalk and plowed into the wall after trying to turn at Providence Street corner.

Ness Elects Officers Hi Y Club Leaders at Bristol YMCA

Stephen Campanella was elected president of the Hi Y Club of the Bristol Y M C A at the annual meeting. He succeeds Louis Romano. Other officers include Pasquale Codola as vice president Angelo Massa as secretary treasurer. Vincent Santo headed the membership committee. Anthony Agatiello and Joseph Securo are club advisors. Plans were discussed for a Halloween party later this month.

The Olympian Club of the Bristol Y M A held a special meeting selecting a nominating committee led by John P. Marshall to draft a slate of officers. A coach and manager will be chosen at the next meeting Monday night. August Almeida and Gaetano Marino were admitted as new members.

Colt High Faces Portsmouth Priory In Non League Clash

Colt High's football eleven meets Portsmouth Priory in a non league game tomorrow afternoon at Portsmouth. Coach Joseph A Murgo will field the same lineup as in the two prior games. Catallano, a halfback used in those games, is out for the season with a broken leg suffered in the De La Salle scoreless game. The match does not count in Class C standings but affects final state standings.
