Taxpayers to Meet on Hurricane Bills and Road Funds
Bristol taxpayers will gather for a special financial town meeting Monday to plan payment of storm related bills and to consider amending a July 25 appropriation of 60 000 for sidewalks and roads so funds can be used for other disaster needs. The meeting, urged by Town Council President Brescait B Paull, aims to relieve unpaid bills and cover WPA costs and highway department overages from the hurricane. Approximately 340 men worked on WPA projects at the peak, later down to 296, with plans to reduce further without delaying rehabilitation.

Mascola Sets WPA Repair Projects For Storm Damage
Bristol Town Council authorized WPA repair work on storm damages to fire stations and sidewalks. Mascola cited total sidewalk destruction of 7032 square feet with restoration costs around 616.90 and foundation sea wall and interior repairs at 237.70. Additional roof repairs on Defiance Engine and Hose Station were discussed with a 501.80 set to complete 5700 square feet of sidewalk on High Street.

Condemnation Moves For 16 Hurricane Damaged Buildings
A Special Committee proposed condemning 16 hurricane damaged structures in New Haven including the Thames street area and the depot at Franke lin street.
