Catholic Charities Appeal Tops 1947 Record
The Catholic Charities Fund Committee held its final report meeting at St Marys auditorium. Frederick T Goff announced the tally of 4399 received to date with expected additional gifts. The total already exceeds last years by about 100 and will benefit the Sisters who staff child care homes hospitals day nurseries and aged home residents.

St Mary's Mothers Club Plans Banquet Bigger Hope
St Marys Church Mothers Club met in the church auditorium and laid plans for the annual banquet and reunion on Saturday May 16 at 6 30 pm in the New Highland Casino. Chairman Mrs Mariano Bucolo will be aided by Mrs Carl H Witherell Mrs John Andrade Mrs Michael A Flynn and Mrs Arthur G Tattrie. The club voted to donate 10 to the Catholic Charity Drive and appointed a nominating committee led by Mrs William Josephs with members Mrs Alfred Fusonie and Mrs M Moore.
