Feast Committee Expresses Thanks for Holy Ghost Feast
Feast organizers thank Avila Bros for transportation of the children from St Elizabeth church and merchants for their support. Bristol Hawaiian Serenaders are praised for a fine performance and Charles Paiva for a special Florida call. Joseph Araujo and the Holy Name Society receive thanks along with the Blessed Virgin Sodality and Police Chief Lewis and Officer Botelho for procession help. A cedar fire at Joseph Morenzi’s home on Rosita Drive blamed on ashes from a family picnic caused smoke and damage, forcing firefighters to respond after noontime Saturday.

Steam fire engine to march in Bristol Fourth of July parade
F Blount of Edaville plans an antique steam fire engine exhibit for the Bristol parade. If a pair of horses can be found, he will fund transporting the engine from Carver Mass. The engine, part of Edaville’s display, ran last year and thrilled youngsters seeing a steam locomotive for the first time. Miserandino committee chair says financing horses and transport may be arranged. The steamer is among engines used at Edaville to haul cars on the narrow gauge railroad.
