Destroyers Norris and Berry to anchor in Bristol Harbor
The U S S Fred T Berry and U S S Norris will dock in Bristol Harbor at 2 pm July 3 for the Fourth celebration. Capt W M Foster invited Boy Scouts and town officials to accompany the ships from Newport. Invitations to participate in the celebration were accepted by Sen Theodore Greene and other state officials. Float entrants were named Bristol Garage Louis Sousa Hope Studio Nick's Auto Body Works and the Junior Chamber of Commerce. Two horses will pull the Edaville Railroad steam engine. Continuous notices for Miss Fourth of July, crown jewel donation, soap box derby sponsor, a penny display, parade and general committee meetings were announced.
