Amplifying system urged for Memorial Day speech at monument
The piece argues for installing a public address system at the Memorial Day ceremonies in front of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument. It notes outdoors noise and crowd movement hinder hearing, estimates cost at nine to twenty five dollars, and urges a small budget increase to improve dignity and ensure speakers are heard by all attendees. It acknowledges some walkers will remain restless but asserts most would value listening to remarks from dignitaries.
