The march leads to North Cemetery Soldiers Lot with a dirge reading ritual salute taps and wreath laying followed by ceremonies at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument including Gettysburg Address Revolutionary War wreaths Spanish American War WWI and Unknown Dead honors by local bands scouts and auxiliary units.

D'Ambrosia Tops Defiance as Defiance Hose Silence Ever Ready
Andre D'Ambrosia pitched a dominant four and two thirds innings with one hit, no runs, and three strikeouts to lift Defiance Hose to a 3 0 twilight league win over Ever Ready Fire Company. Perry and Murphy starred on defense with eight and fifteen chances respectively, while Murphy added a key first inning putout and D'Ambrosia also doubled to left in the fourth. Francisco T Sousa 60, longtime town resident, dies after long illness at 1021 Hope Street. Funeral 9 AM Thursday at St Elizabeth's Church with Rev Manuel Barros officiating. Burial in St Mary's Cemetery. Sousa, born in St Michaels Azores, worked in National India Rubber Co. He is survived by wife Maria Sousa and two sons Joseph Sousa of Providence and Manuel Sousa of Portugal.

Maria Carlone Shines In American Debut With Bristol Band
Miss Maria Carlone of Barrington wowed Bristol with an American debut solo recital at a benefit for outdoor concerts. The 25 year old soprano, after three and a half years study in Italy, received thunderous applause for arias from Lucia and other pieces, her high notes and graceful baritone work praised. The Bristol Train of Artillery Band conducted by Mrs. M Theresa Donovan accompanied with well chosen numbers and soloists including trumpetists Harry Kebrek and James Ruggeiro, and pianist Mrs. Cora Shaw Anderson. The program featured Verdi, Rossini, and Donizetti selections, and closed with the Star Spangled Banner.

The local Boy Scouts begin selling "Booster Buttons" for Bristol's 1934 Fourth of July Celebration.
